Understanding The Different Language Levels
Level A1 (Beginner)
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
• Speak and write familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases that can be used in the area of employment.
• Ask and answer simple questions – both personal as well as those that relate to their area of employment.
• Speak clearly in a well projected voice as to be understood by other speakers of the English language.
Level A2 (Elementary)
By the end of the course, in addition to those in A1, students should be able to:
• Speak and understand simple sentences and frequently used expressions. (Such as personal and family matters, shopping and local geography, employment)
• Can speak and receive instructions on simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and work-related matters.
Level B1 (Intermediate)
By the end of the course, in addition to those in A1 and A2, students should be able to:
• Deliver a short presentation about a topic of familiar interest and / or work-related.
• Describe events and experiences such as dreams, ambitions, opinions, and information provided. These can also be of familiar interest and or work related.
Level B2 (Upper Intermediate)
By the end of the course, in addition to those in A1, A2 and B1, students should be able to:
• Understand the main ideas of a text based on abstract, technical, or work-related topics
• Interact with some degree of fluency and spontaneity with other users of the targeted language.
• Produce a clear and detailed knowledge of topics that are work of familiar interest and work-related.
• Hold a discussion on various topics, providing clear and objective viewpoints.
